Template lifecycle
Draft templates can be changed while they are being assembled. Published templates are available for new reports. Archived templates remain part of the historical record but cannot start a new report.
- Providers can work on drafts.
- Owners and admins publish changes that affect the clinic's live reporting workflow.
- Duplicate a published template when you need a safe experimental branch.
- Use History to preview an earlier version before restoring it.
Sections and clinical structure
Sections determine the order and purpose of the report. Use Fields for individual values, Chart or Table for structured comparisons, Provider questions for clinical input, and Text for controlled explanatory copy.
- Name sections for the reader, not the implementation.
- Keep required clinical input limited to decisions the provider must make.
- Use ready-made presets as a starting point and review every inserted field.
Details and data sources
A mapped field tells Orvexa AI which approved source value belongs in the report. Adding a measurement from an uploaded-PDF source also adds that source requirement to the template.
- Prefer the smallest set of fields that supports the clinical purpose.
- Mark a source required only when the report is unsafe or meaningless without it.
- Use labels that a patient and provider can understand.
- Check source provenance in the preview before publishing.
PDF layout, letterhead, and assets
The Design tab controls the page treatment. Standard, Classic, Compact, and Coloured header provide maintained layouts. Letterhead and branding assets should support the document hierarchy without covering report content.
Sample PDF is the authoritative layout check. Quick view is useful while editing, but it does not replace a refreshed PDF when page breaks, headers, footers, charts, or appendices matter.
- Use a high-resolution logo with a transparent or white background.
- Keep letterhead content within the printable page margins.
- Refresh the PDF after any design or content change.
- Use Advanced HTML, CSS, and JSON only when the maintained layouts cannot meet the clinic's requirement.
Completeness and publishing
The unfinished-items list explains what prevents a reliable published template. Drafts can save while incomplete. Publishing is available only when the required structure, data mapping, and design are valid.
